My heart is breaking. The pictures on the television are mind blowing. Such mass destruction…overwhelming loss of precious lives…so many injured and crying out for help.
I want to be there. I want to sit and put my arms around whomever will let me. To give them what comfort I can. To give them someone to hold on to. To hold them while they weep…and to weep with them.
I know God is calling Jim and I to move our feet…to be obedient to his call and go…and I’m ready. I don’t know how or where or when. All I know is that we will go.
So for today…I’ll pray. Pray for those who have lost so much…and had so little to begin with. Pray for those who are rushing to their aid…that they might be kept from harm. Pray for those that God call to go care for his people…that their hearts will be open and willing. Pray for leaders of all countries to act swiftly and give generously. Pray for God’s direction and guidance…showing us how to help our brothers and sisters in need.
And in the midst of all of this, I will remember…there will come a day, when the last tears will be wiped away and we will all be home with our Father. (Revelation 21:4)
